Established in 2001 as Microsoft Game Studios first party racing developer, Turn 10 Studios began working on the original Forza Motorsport to fill the void of simulation racing games on the Xbox console. Over the course of 3 years our dedicated team of developers laid the foundation for the Forza Motorsport franchise. With an emphasis on driving mechanics and powerful features pushing the boundaries of Xbox LIVE, the original Forza Motorsport was released in May of 2005 to much critical acclaim and community support.

Building off its success Turn 10’s roster nearly doubled in size as the team immediately began working on a sequel intended to be released on Microsoft’s next generation console, the Xbox 360. Two years of development gave birth to Forza Motorsport 2 that was released in May of 2007. Furthering the intuitive racing experience was only the beginning for Turn 10, as Forza Motorsport 2 pushed the boundaries of User Generated Content (UGC) with the addition of a robust livery editor and online Auction House where players sold their one-of-a-kind creations to the highest bidder. For the very first time the console racing genre saw a game that gave casual players the features they required the express their creativity on and off the track.

With new online tools at their fingertips, the Forza community blossomed into a specialized society filled with painters, tuners, sellers, racers and drifters who mastered their craft and shared their creations with the world via Forzamotorsport.net.

In late 2007, Turn 10 Studios began sculpting an aggressive road map for the next iteration of the Forza franchise. With an intense development schedule, Turn 10 Studios moved to a much larger dedicated studio space as we began crafting our most ambitious project to date. Doubling down on graphics, presentation, driving physics, UGC and broad accessibility, Turn 10 announced Forza Motorsport 3 at the E3 Expo in 2009 to excited fans around the world.

Turn 10 Studios is dedicated to pushing the genre of simulation racing to new heights, and Forza Motorsport 3 represents our vision of what the future of racing simulations will be for years to come. We would like thank our community and fans, new and old, for their support in helping us achieve our goals.
