If you have received a message stating that you have been banned from the Forza 3 Storefront or Auction House it is because you have posted an item that we have deemed as offensive or inappropriate for our younger players. We are taking a strict stance on offenders to drive home the point that offensive or inappropriate items will not be tolerated. For a list of the offensive materials that are not acceptable please visit the Forza Motorsport 3 In-Game FAQ located below. E-mailing us will not get your ban reversed, nor will posting about your ban on the forums.

We’ve been receiving many e-mails regarding failed downloads of content over Xbox LIVE. If your download was stopped or failed due to connectivity problems remember that you can re-download any and all content through the “Download History” section of the Xbox 360 Dashboard. Here’s how:
Log in with your gamertag and navigate to the “My Xbox” level of the Xbox LIVE dashboard. Scroll to the right once and hit “A” on your Avatar. From this menu select “Manage Account” and scroll down to “Download History”. Here you will see a list of your recent downloads, even if they have not been completed. Forza Motorsport 3: In-Game Questions:
Q: Word on the street is that Forza Motorsport 3 comes with a redeem code for extra cars and tracks. How do I get them in the game?
A: Every new copy of Forza Motorsport 3 includes an Xbox LIVE redeem code for the Benchmark High Speed Ring, Sidewinder Proving Grounds and the Classic Car pack, all offered as Downloadable Content (DLC). Read more about this content here. In order to access this content in game it must first be downloaded from Xbox LIVE. From the Xbox 360 Dashboard, hit the guide button and scroll to the “Marketplace” tab on the far left. Scroll down to “Redeem Code” and enter the 24 digit code hidden underneath the removable panel of the Redeem Card found within your copy of Forza Motorsport 3. Once the content is downloaded you will be able to access these tracks and cars in the game.
Q: I downloaded and installed the Classic Car Pack, but don’t see the cars in my career garage. How do I find them?
A: In order to use these cars in your career they must first be purchased from the in-game dealerships just as you would any other car. They will not be automatically added to your career garage.
Q: In the middle of downloading the Classic Car Pack (or any DLC for that matter) my Xbox 360 lost connection to Xbox LIVE and the download stopped. How do I get this content back?
A: Log in with your gamertag and navigate to the “My Xbox” level of the Xbox LIVE dashboard. Scroll to the right once and hit “A” on your Avatar. From this menu select “Manage Account” and scroll down to “Download History”. Here you will see a list of your recent downloads, even if they have not been completed. Highlight and select the content you’re missing and a menu will appear giving you the option to download the item again.
Q: I bought Forza Motorsport 3 used and do not see the redeem codes in the box. Is there another way to get access to the additional content?
A: The only way to obtain the additional day one Downloadable Content (DLC) is to purchase a new copy of Forza Motorsport 3. This content is not available for purchase or download on Xbox LIVE without the original redeem code included within Forza Motorsport 3. If the redeem code is in the box chances are it has already been used by the first owner and will not work for a second download.
Q: In Forza Motorsport 3 certain cars and tracks are greyed out and won’t let me select them. Why can’t I play with this content?
A: Forza Motorsport 3 is shipped with one game disc and a bonus disc filled with additional content, including cars and tracks. If you see cars and tracks greyed out it means that you have not installed the second disc. To install the second disc of bonus content simply navigate to the main Forza Motorsport 3 menu. Select “Install Disc 2” at the bottom of the menu and follow the prompts on screen. Below is a list of content included on the second disc.
The Contents of Disc 2:
- Asian Car Pack featuring 37 cars from Asian Manufacturers
- European Car Pack featuring 39 cars from European Manufacturers
- American Car Pack featuring 28 cars from American Manufacturers
- Road Racing Track Pack that includes 3 Racing Environments (Rally di Positano, Fujimi Kaido and Nurburgring Nordschleife)
Q: I’ve already installed disc two but there are still cars and tracks greyed out in the menus. What gives?
A: There are 5 cars that are only available to members of our VIP program. In order to be considered a VIP you must purchase the Limited Collectors Edition (LCE) of Forza Motorsport 3. The exclusive VIP cars are:
- 2008 Aston Martin DBS
- 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
- 2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia
- 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
- 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997)
Read more about the cars of Forza Motorsport 3 here.
Q: What is the Forza Motorsport 3 VIP program and how do I sign up?
A: The VIP program is an initiative to reward fans of the series that have purchased the Limited Collector’s Edition (LCE) of Forza Motorsport 3. Along with the 5 cars listed above, VIP’s will also get special recognition in-game along with access to a host of VIP cars that will be released by Turn 10. These cars will be created by our community specifically for our VIP’s and will not be made available to anyone who is not a VIP member.
Q: Will VIP memberships ever be sold separately from the Limited Collector’s Edition(LCE) of Forza 3?
A: Maybe. We’re looking into it, however at this point the only way to become a VIP is to purchase the Limited Collector’s Edition (LCE) of Forza Motorsport 3.
Q: I installed the contents of disc two before playing the game for the first time and now I cannot get past the disc 2 installation screen. How do I fix this?
A: The only time you should install the contents of disc two is when you are prompted to do so from within Forza Motorsport 3. If you have already installed the contents of disc two and have yet to play the game then you will need to delete it in order to proceed. Navigate to the “My Xbox” tab on the Xbox 360 dashboard and select “System Settings” all the way to the right. Scroll down to “Memory” and select the storage device where the content was installed. Select “Games” and scroll down to “Forza Motorsport 3”. Look for the following items and delete them from your hard drive by selecting them and choosing “Delete”.
The items you need to delete are:
- American Car Pack
- Asian Car Pack
- European Car Pack
- Road Racing Track Pack.
Once the content has been deleted insert the first Forza Motorsport 3 game disc (marked as “Disc 1 Play Disc") and follow the on-screen instructions to correctly install the contents of disc 2.
Q: Word on the street is that there are cars which are normally unattainable in Forza 3 and they go by the term "limited edition" or "unicorn." What that all about?
A: Yes there are 3 exclusive Unicorn cars that are only available on the Forza Motorsport 3 Auction House. These cars are extremely rare and will usually go for very high prices on the Auction House. The Turn 10 community team will also be offering these cars to winners of our officially sponsored competitions. Visit the Forza Motorsport 3 community forum here for more on these events.
The three unicorn cars are:
- 2006 Subaru Impreza S204
- 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe
- 2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type-A
Q: An item I uploaded to the Storefront/Auction House is showing up as “Under Review” and has disappeared from the item list. What does that mean and why can’t people bid on my object?
A: When offensive content is flagged by other members of the community it will eventually show up as “Under Review”. This means your content is offensive and does not belong on the Storefront/Auction House. Your item has been sent to the Forza 3 moderation team who will determine if it is indeed a violation of our Terms and Service. If we determine that your item is not offensive then it will be restored. If your item is offensive then you will receive a temporary or permanent ban from the Storefront/Auction House.
Q: I received the following message while trying to access a feature in the game "Your gamertag has been banned from this feature. For more information about Xbox LIVE's terms and services agreement, please visit Forzamotorsport.net". What did I do wrong?
A: If you have received this message then you have been banned from a specific feature on Xbox LIVE. This can happen if you upload offensive materials to the Storefront/Auction House, or use exploits and cheats to better your lap times. If it is your first time ban it will most likely be temporary, however depending on your offence we reserve the right to permanently ban you from a given feature. The duration of your ban will be displayed in a message sent to your Forza Motorsport 3 “Message Center” which can be found by navigating to the “My Profile” section of the Forza 3 main menu.
Currently we are banning users who have created an item that contains any of the following elements:
- Depictions of nudity and/or sexual themes and suggestions. This includes “censored” designs or items that are deemed inappropriate.
- Depictions of racism, hate crimes, bigotry, and discrimination. This includes any references to the Nazi regime.
- Depictions of drugs and/or narcotics.
- Fraudulent depictions used to trick players into purchasing your item.
- Derogatory comments or remarks targeted at another user, person, or group.
- Offensive language and profanity.
- Any political references that we deem as inappropriate or offensive.
Additionally we are banning users who post cars that offer Microsoft Points (via hidden layers and codes), as well as users who are selling Forza Motorsport 3 credits on eBay. If you auction is not appropriate for all ages then you should take active steps to remove these design elements to avoid getting banned.
Q: I’m trying to sell an item (car/livery group/design) on the storefront/auction house and I keep getting the “cannot sell” message. Why can’t I sell or gift this item/car?
A: All content purchased from the Storefront is sold locked, meaning you cannot re-sell or gift that item as long as you are using a locked item. If you receive this error message then it means you have a car or layer group that contains a locked item. It could be a layer group, the livery itself or a tuning set-up; and as long as any of those items are included on your car you will not be able to upload it to the storefront or gift it to a friend. In order to sell/gift that car you will need to first remove all locked items.
For instance if you purchased a Turn 10 logo from the storefront and used it in your Forza 3 liveried car, you would no longer be able to sell that design or gift the car, because the purchased Turn 10 logo is locked. Remove the Turn 10 logo and you are free to sell/gift your car or design.
Q: When trying to access the Storefront or Auction House I get the following error message “This feature is blocked per your Xbox LIVE parental control settings.” What do I do?
A: If you parent or guardian has set parental restrictions on your account then you will not be able to access user generated content (UGC) on the storefront or auction house. Occasionally your account will have these settings applied, and if your account does not have parental controls enabled then you can get around this issue using the following steps:
1- Navigate to the “My Xbox” portion of the Xbox 360 dashboard and hit “A” on the avatar blade.
2- Select “Profile” and select “Edit Profile” in the next menu.
3- Scroll down to “Privacy Settings” and Hit “A”.
4- Scroll down to “Member Content” and hit “A”.
5- Select “Everyone” to display content from everyone on Xbox LIVE.
Q: I’ve saved a picture of Forza 3 on my console and want to get it on my computer. How do I get access to my images?
A: In order to save your photomode shots to your computer you must first upload them to the in-game Storefront. You can do this by accessing the “My Photos” section within the “My Profile” menu of the main Forza Motorsport 3 area. Select the image you want and hit “Upload to Storefront”. All images saved to your personal storefront will be available for download on the “My Forza” section of Forzamotorsport.net. Click here for more information on the new features of Forzamotorsport.net.
Q: I had a saved WMV uploaded to Forzamotorsport.net but now it’s gone. Where did it go?
A: Only one WMV can be uploaded to Forzamotorsport.net at a time. If you upload another WMV it will replace the one that is currently in your slot, so make sure to download each WMV before uploading the next. Also your uploaded WMV will only be available for 24 hours, after which it will no longer be available for download.
Q: I tried uploading a saved video to Youtube but the upload failed. What do I need to do to make my Forza 3 videos compatible?
A: By using a simple (and free) program like Windows Media Encoder you can convert your saved videos to a WMV format that will be compatible with websites like Youtube. Once you've saved your uploaded videos from the "My Forza" page to your computer, follow these steps to convert it to a friendly format:
- Open Windows Media Encoder. If you don’t have it you can download it for free here.
- The encoding wizard will be displayed upon start-up. If you have it disabled you can click “New Session” in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
- In the “Wizards” tab select “Convert a file”.
- Hit "browse" where you see "Source file" and navigate to the location where your Forza 3 WMV is saved on your computer. Select “Open”.
- You can also specify a specific location to save the new output video, however by default it will save to the same location as the source file. It's best to leave this field at it's default to make sure you know where the new video will be saved.
- Click “Next” and select “File Download (computer playback)” from the list of options and click “Next”. This will make sure your video retains its quality.
- From here click “Finish” and your video will begin encoding to the new format. If it does not start right away click “Start Encoding” at the top of the screen. The program will make two passes at encoding the video, and depending on the length of your video and the speed of your computer it may take a while. Now is a great time to upload your next Forza 3 video to Forzamotorsport.net!
- When your video is ready a dialog box will appear with details about the file, where it was saved and the settings used. If you didn’t change any file names in Step 5 then the program will automatically name the file for you. If your file is called “Forza.wmv” then the new file would be called “Forza-1.wmv”.
- Locate the new file and upload it directly to Youtube!
Q: I’ve submitted a time on the leaderboard that is faster than my friends, but he/she is still ranked higher than me. Is there something wrong with the game?
A: In this case you have submitted a lap time that the server has flagged as being “Dirty”. In order to prevent cheating and exploits we have implemented a clean/dirty leaderboard system that places all times flagged as dirty below the slowest time that was not flagged as a “dirty” lap. Your laptime will be flagged as “dirty” if you meet any of the following conditions:
- Using the rewind feature
- Your lap has penalty time from driving off-track and/or any collisions
- The last section of your previous lap has penalty time
- You drafted another opponent
In order for your times to appear above the “dirty” times you must submit a lap without breaking any of the conditions listed above. If not then your lap time will be ranked accordingly within the “dirty” times.
Forzamotorsport.net Website Questions:
Q: My posts aren’t appearing on the forum after I post them. Where did they go?
A: If you are not seeing your posts immediately after submitting them, it means that your posting privileges have been “Moderated”. Basically, all of your posts must be approved before they will appear on the website. If you are a new user, then remember that all new accounts are set-up to be “Moderated” when they are created. If your posts have been moderated intentionally then you have posted messages that have been determined as offensive by our moderators. If you can show us that you are capable of being a productive member of the community then you will have this restriction removed.
Q: How do I link my Gamertag to my FM.net account so I can download photos?
A: To link your Gamertag to your Windows Live ID email, please go through the following steps to verify/update your Xbox LIVE Contact Information:
1) Hit the Xbox 360 Guide button and scroll to the right until you reach the “settings” blade.
2) Select “Account Management”.
3) Select “Contact Information”.
4) Enter the account information for your Windows LIVE ID and then select “Sign In”.
5) Your gamertag will now be linked to this Windows LIVE ID. Use this ID to log in to Forzamotorsport.net and navigate to the “My Forza” tab to retrieve your Photos.
